Brittany Gracey

From first through twelfth grade, Roeper was my second home. It was a place where I could both learn and explore different academic subjects, cultures, and creative outlets. The faculty and staff at Roeper were supportive of every student’s differences, and encouraged everyone to be themselves. As a child, I was very curious and adventurous, always looking for alternative solutions to what was proposed. In Stage IV, my homeroom teachers gave me the opportunity to participate in Imagineers with three other classmates, where we were tasked with finding alternative energy solutions and applications. Although we did not place in the competition, I loved every minute of the creative problem-solving challenge.

Throughout middle and upper school, I was able to take challenging math and science courses. My teachers were genuinely interested in my success after high school and suggested various engineering and medical camps to pique my interest in the areas that I was already strong in. It was through those camps that I was able to decide on what I wanted to major in and choose as a career path. I am very thankful to the devoted faculty and staff at Roeper for nourishing and cultivating my interests and strengths. My success and completion of my bioengineering degree from Oakland University is thanks to God, my parents, and my upbringing at Roeper.
