ROEPER NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS AND ANNUAL FUND

The Roeper School names Adam Smock as the newly appointed Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund.  His responsibilities will include coordinating and managing the communications and ongoing relationship between the school and its alumni as well as the school's Annual Fund activities.  Mr. Smock follows Emery Pence, who has taken his considerable teaching skills back to the classroom.

According to Roeper Development Director, Denita Banks-Sims, Adam’s appointment “brings an authentic, creative and joyful energy to the position. As a Roeper alumnus, we will be well-served by his knowledge of the community and passion for the philosophy. The Roeper School has thousands of former students and alumni throughout the globe and it remains our distinct honor to strengthen our connections. Adam is the ideal person to provide this critical link.”

Adam Smock, born and raised in the Detroit area, is a former Roeper student who graduated from the school in 1987.  Since graduating from Eastern Michigan University in 1992, he has worked in the marketing and advertising industry developing and executing advertising programs for national, regional and local advertisers like Ford Motor Company, Progressive Insurance, Coors Beer and many others.  In recent years, his focus has been on marketing research and strategy, designing and conducting studies to better understand consumer behavior and communications planning.

Adam is a resident of Royal Oak and has two teenage children.  He is very excited to return to Roeper and give back to the community that served him so well in his younger years.  “It’s like coming home again!  To be able to use my skills and experience to continue the growth of this school is an honor.  I got so much from my experience here as a student that I want to do everything I can to make sure future students benefit in the same way I did.”

Adam is so excited to reach out to Roeper Alumni everywhere and keep them engaged in the schools future as well as ensure the continued success of the Annual Fund.  Adam’s office is located in Hill House where he welcomes all visitors, calls, and emails: 248.203.7314 or adam.smock@roeper.org
