The Roeper Theater Company will stage the musical comedy The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at The Roeper School’s Birmingham campus from November 2 through 10, 2012.
In this musical comedy, six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.
The Roeper Theater Company’s production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is directed by Shelley Fager-Bajorek with music direction by Abha Dearing. The cast features seniors, Jacob Dalton of Waterford and Samantha Heiman of Clarkston; juniors, Jeffrey Fox of West Bloomfield, Clara Bird and Rachel Stamler-Jonas of Royal Oak, Dylan Bennett and Francesca Bennett of Huntington Woods; sophomore, Eric Silver of Huntington Woods; and freshman, John Hatcher of Auburn Hills and Julia Morgan of Birmingham.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee opens at the R. Dean Acheson Theater at Roeper’s Birmingham campus on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 8 pm, with additional performances Saturday, November 3, Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10 at 8 pm, Thursday, November 8 at 7 pm, and Sunday, November 4 at 2 pm. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 248-203-7933 or may be purchased at the door. Prices are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors, and all seats are reserved.
