Who We Are

An internationally recognized leader in gifted education, Roeper offers a highly individualized, inquiry-based program that focuses on the whole child while uniquely accommodating the complexity of gifted students.

Our approach offers the intellectual challenge gifted children crave and allows them to explore personal passions deeply and imaginatively.

Jamey Bell, Class of 1975, Executive Director of Greater Hartford Legal Aid

Every one of my teachers delivered the message: 'You are unique, you are valued, and you have a responsibility to use your gifts for the greater good.'

Leisl M., Roeper Parent

When you find the place where you know your child will be nurtured and respected and allowed to flourish and become who they are meant to be, it is a joy (and a relief).

Stage I Roeper Parent

Our most important parenting value is building good humans, and Roeper lives this and builds on it every single day. Our son has grown in ways I didn’t know possible, and Roeper continues to build on the foundation that we instill in our children at home, while providing an incredibly rich learning environment for him to grow in.

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that The Roeper School stands upon traditional Indigenous lands subject to the 1807 Treaty of Detroit between the sovereign peoples of the Odawa, Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Wyandot and the government of the United States. We honor the connection that they and other Indigenous peoples have to this place, recognize their continued presence and rights to self-determination, and accept the ongoing stewardship of the land and our relationship that comes from our status as treaty people.
Educating and inspiring gifted students to think as individuals and to engage as a community with compassion for each other and this world.
