LOWER SCHOOL ACADEMICS
Stage I

In the Hill House, Stage I students explore concepts related to language, aesthetics, social behavior, mathematics, etc.,  an exploratory, experiential, and shared way.

Stage I ½ Day Programs (Ages 3 - 4) – Mornings Only

  • 2 Days/week (Tues/Thurs)
  • 3 Days/week (Mon/Wed/Fri)
  • 5 Days/week (Mon – Fri)

Stage I Full Day Programs (Ages 3 - 4)

  • 3 Days/week (Choose 3 days)
  • 5 Days/week (Mon – Fri)

Stage II

In the Domes, shared inquiry continues in Stage II with more emphasis on expanding academic concepts and skills and the beginnings of self reflection as a learner.

Stage II (Kindergarten and 1st grade)


Stage III - IV

The entire 12-acre campus becomes the learning and playing field for Stage III and IV students. Housed in the new Steward Classroom building Stage III students experience a time of dynamic and dramatic growth necessary for the self responsibility, other-centeredness, and academic abstractions nurtured in Stage IV.

Stage IV (4th and 5th grades)
